The Hungry Hundred
Are you looking for truly one of a kind footage to add authenticity and nostalgia to your video projects? If so, keep reading to learn about a project we are truly excited about.
A Vast, Eclectic Collection of Rare Footage
We’ve built up a collection of thousands of home movies with footage ranging from the 1930s to the late 2000s from nearly every old format imaginable. From grainy 35mm film from the early 20th Century to the more polished look of 1980s VHS tapes, the possibilities to add some nostalgic magic to your video projects is limited only by your imagination.
Genuine Footage for Genuine Emotions
This type of footage is the hardest to gain access to and paradoxically the most relatable to every viewer. Everyone sees a little bit of themselves in footage shot by everyday people—it’s authentic, a bit rough around the edges at times, but always real.
In many instances, the footage we have came from individuals and collectors that never intended their footage to go outside their family or even beyond their own solitary pair of eyes. Through cold emails, referrals, and in-person visits to areas far and wide, we persisted. It’s hard work but it’s worth it to save these types of video history.
An Irreplaceable Loss: Jeremy’s Story
I didn’t start truly valuing my family’s home videos until after losing my grandfather to cancer in 2004. My grandmother had an old VHS tape of him but it hadn’t been touched in years. I only found out about it after my grandmother mentioned how she threw it away because it was no good anymore. In her mind, not having a VCR to watch it made it useless.
After mentioning this incident to others, a number of my friends mentioned how something similar happened with their family members and their home movies. I then realized that what my grandmother did was something that thousands of others were doing every day. People were throwing away irreplaceable footage because they didn’t have the tools or incentives to make those plastic VHS tapes and metallic reels “useful” again.
Our Exclusive Pitch to You
We see you as special. If you are reading this, you’re only one of a few hundred we’re reaching out to with this offer. Just like the care we took in finding tapes and film reels, we took care to identify filmmakers and video project specialists with the caliber of work we would be honored to have our footage associated with.
Once we reach one hundred sign ups, we’ll close this campaign along with the deeply discounted prices and benefits of the exclusive license package options and re-open our normal license process. With one hundred sign ups, we’ll be able to get through our backlog of thousands of tapes and reels waiting to be digitized. And we’ll also be able to expand our efforts at saving and acquiring thousands more.
The Benefits of Being One of the Hungry Hundred
Beyond the ease of being able to search and watch the thousands of tapes and reels digitized and posted on our YouTube channel (currently, we’ve only digitized a few dozen so far), you’ll receive a discounted rate of up to 50% on licensed footage.
Additionally, you’ll receive white glove service when it comes to searching for specific vintage content for your video project. Your search requirements would receive priority and we would lean on our network of hundreds of estate sales companies, dealers, collectors, video digitization companies, and individuals to acquire footage matching your specific criteria. This search and acquisition network alone is worth the price.
About Licensing and Film Enhancement
The films and videos in our collection are completely owned by us. We retain full and permanent possession of the original film reels, VHS tapes, and cassette tapes. This means that any special requests you have ranging from creating digital masters to 4K enhancements can be done by us or by you. And this would also come at a special discounted rate for you for signing up for this offer.
The Ticking Clock
Somewhere, as you read this, there is a grandmother or other relative throwing away priceless footage that means something special to someone. Somewhere, a junk removal company is hauling away a film reel from a widow’s home with breathtaking footage that would have given your project that special touch you were looking for and would have brought joy to viewers.
The clock is ticking and it’s painful to think about what is being lost every second. I’m hungry for theses pieces of real and rare footage of the past and hope you are too!
